This is by far my most requested cake as a home baker. And I will admit, vanilla cake USED to be my favorite until this cake stole the prize! Enjoy and let me know how you like it!
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake
1 Box Devil’s Food Chocolate Cake mix (any kind really)
1 Box instant chocolate pudding mix (3.4 oz)
1 cup vegetable oil (yes, a full cup)
4 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray two 8″ or 9″ round pans with non-stick baking spray and set aside. Whisk the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add the remaining ingredients (except the chips) and mix well on low/medium speed (approximately 1-2 minutes). Stir in the chocolate chips. Pour the mix into the prepared pans and bake approximately 25 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let the cakes sit about 10 minutes then turn them out onto a cooling rack. Stack and frost the cakes with chocolate buttercream icing and top with mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, strawberries, peanut butter cups or buttercream rosettes!
